Nowadays, intellectual work products are the most important resource, which application largely shapes the future of the petroleum industry. Inventions become values and their significance must be confirmed by both successful cases and the state expert review certifying authorship and exclusive rights.
GeoSplit takes a serious approach to legal protection of its proprietary scientific developments that underlie the company’s business. It is extremely important to have a monetization guarantee for intellectual work products and the potential for their industrial use.
One of the GeoSplit team’s new developments is the gas well marker monitoring technology, which has already proved to be highly effective. This year the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation (Rospatent) has made a decision to issue a patent for this invention: The method of qualitative and quantitative evaluation of downhole gas inflows during multi-stage hydraulic fracturing in a multiphase flow system.
Gas well survey projects in Russia and China are underway. The new technology gives customers access to the continuous well interval productivity data stream without forced shutdowns or operating parameter changes. The Geosplit survey results together with geological data represent a fundamentally new approach that allows planning enhanced hydrocarbon recovery for the fields, localizing the remaining reserves, and implementing production digitization projects in the future.
GeoSplit’s experts are transforming the marker monitoring technology for new projects to ensure potential application under any conditions and solve a wide range of tasks. The short-term plans are to survey offshore gas fields in the Middle East countries.
One of GeoSplit's key focus areas in the field of social responsibility is the young professionals support programme. We interact closely with students of the universities offering petroleum engineering programs — invite them to our lectures, practical trainings, and internships held at our headquarters in Skolkovo, and also sponsor the SPE student section.
This year, GeoSplit will sponsor the International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress: Oil and Gas Horizons. The event will be mainly focused on discussing the oil and gas potential of the Arctic offshore reserves and the role of young professionals in the transformation of the industry and addressing global environmental challenges. Leading GeoSplit experts will deliver presentations on topical subjects, speak to students about real cases, and share their experience in applying theory in practice along with a vision of the future of energy. Yevgeny Malyavko, GeoSplit Chief Technical Officer will speak at the plenary session and the Head of the Operational and Technical Group Ksenia Saprykina will be part of the jury of the Oil and Gas Field Development section.
The Oil and Gas Horizons Congress will be held from November 16 to November 19 at the National University of Oil and Gas named after Ivan Gubkin (Gubkin University) to bring together petroleum engineering students from different countries. We are confident that the event will enable the participants to gain invaluable experience and make lots of useful acquaintances with future colleagues.
